The Purple Ribbon Breakfast is an inspirational morning that brings philanthropists and business professionals together to take a stand and make an impact against violence. The fourth annual event will take place on Thursday, April 2 at Embassy Suites in Loveland. The event fosters public awareness of domestic violence, sexual assault and human trafficking in our community and serves to fund Alternatives to Violence's shelter and programs.

This year we are proud to present Mildred D. Muhammad, award-winning global keynote speaker, domestic abuse survivor, author and advocate. As the ex-wife of the D.C. sniper, John A. Muhammad, Mildred will share her personal experience and challenges on what it's like to be a victim and survivor of domestic violence "without physical scars." She has received many awards including the Special Commendation presented by the Office on Violence Against Women and the Maya Angelou "Still I Rise" Award. She is a regular television and radio guest. Appearances include Oprah: Where Are They Now, Anderson, Larry King Live and Good Morning America.
