Walk a Mile in Her Shoes® is an international march to raise awareness around the issues of domestic violence, sexual assault and gender violence.
About the Event
As a fun kick off to Pastels on 5th, on Friday, September 13, 2019, residents throughout the community will be walking in heels as a way to raise awareness around gender violence and to support Alternatives to Violence- a non-profit organization offering shelter, advocacy, education and resources for people impacted by domestic violence, sexual assault and human trafficking.
Inspired by the common saying, “You can’t really understand another person’s experience until you’ve walked a mile in their shoes,” the event encourages everyone to actively speak out for domestic violence and sexual assault prevention in a walk around downtown Loveland wearing high heels.
Don’t miss out on this fun family event! There will be music, food trucks and other activities. We will also have a raffle with great items! Funds raised from this event will go directly to support victims of violence.
Register as an individual or form a team with friends, family and co-workers!
Men, women, and children are welcome to participate in Walk a Mile in Her Shoes®. Although, wearing high heels is encouraged, it is not a requirement to participate.
Register by end of day Friday, August 22nd to guarantee a t-shirt in your size.
